Here's the story
Born and raised in the great state of Kentucky, I’ve been singing and storytelling for as long as I can remember!
There’s nothing in this world quite as magical or meaningful as the unique instrument of the human voice.
I started making audiobooks in high school and later managed a top voiceover studio in NYC, learning how to wear every hat in the industry and creating award-winning audio with some of the best in the business.
My love of the spoken word has only grown from there!
But no matter where I live or how far I roam, in my heart Kentucky is always home…
As one of the fastest growing fields in entertainment, the audiobook industry’s become a Wild West boomtown of new and fascinating folks from every walk of life. Audiobooks are changing the face of storytelling!
During the pandemic, quarantines forced recording out of the major-market metropolises and into home studios coast to coast. For the first time, narrators could follow our hearts to live and work in the hometowns we love.
And I wondered, how might these places that shape us also shape the stories we tell?
The idea of The Nomad Narrator began to form.
I converted an empty cargo van into a mobile recording studio to travel the country and meet other narrators, hoping to explore our creative practices and build community together.
What better way to share these adventures than – audio? A podcast was born! Catch in-depth narrator profiles and insider interviews alongside travel tales and plenty of shenanigans along the way. Available on Apple, Spotify, YouTube, or your own favorite podcast ap.
And be sure to sign up for updates to know when we’re headed to your neck of the woods! Though we are pretty hard to miss in our colorful, community-painted ride designed by Nashville-based muralist Andee Rudloff.
Each keystone episode of the show costs over $2,500 to produce. If you believe in the power of storytelling and want to support what we’re doing, please join The Nomad Narrator Road Crew! Subscriptions range from $3 to $10 monthly for access to the online community, discounts on merch, and advance notice of live audiobook meetups in your area.
Alrighty, friends… let’s buckle up! And get ready for adventure as we set off together in search of real human stories, homemade and from the heart.
